5.0 General Combat (Outside of War)

PvP is enabled on Alathra, but it is governed by specific rules to ensure fairness and respect between players. Combat outside of war scenarios is allowed—as long as it abides by the guidelines. Violating these rules may result in punishment.

5.1 RDM (Random Deathmatch) is not allowed.

RDM refers to the unjustified or non-consensual killing of other players. It undermines roleplay and disrupts the experience for others.

What counts as RDM: What does not count as RDM: Why it matters:

RDM breaks immersion and harms the cooperative storytelling environment. Alathra prioritizes meaningful roleplay and community engagement over random or chaotic PvP.

Note: If you die in valid RP combat, you are not entitled to recover your lost items.

5.2 Always warn trespassers before initiating combat.

You must ask a trespasser to leave and allow at least 60 seconds for them to respond before engaging in combat. This ensures fairness and gives players time to comply or flee. If a player has already been outlawed using the towny plugin then you do not need to issue a warning asking them to leave, they will have already been issued with one via the plug in.

5.3 Do not place cobwebs or lava during combat.

Placing these blocks in active PvP situations is forbidden. If you intend to use traps, they must be placed before combat begins.

Note: Explosives are the only exception to this rule.

5.4 The use of mobs or bosses in combat.

Using hostile mobs or bosses to gain an advantage in combat is not permitted. However using rideable mobs such as horses, llamas or camels etc is permitted, as is using up to 20 dogs.
