Technology Guidelines
Technology shapes our world and keeps stories believable. Our guidelines define what’s possible within Alathra’s lore. All technology must fit within Alathra’s timeline, from the 5th century to the late 1700s. Castles, villages, swords, bows, and early gunpowder weapons are welcome. Light Steampunk brings extra elements such as - gears, clockwork, steam engines, and air balloons. However, advanced or modern technologies are not allowed here. No nuclear power, submarines, airships, trains or sci-fi tech.
What is allowed?
- Tools and weapons from the 5th to late 1700s.
- Castles, villages, and medieval infrastructure.
- Basic gunpowder weapons and cannons.
- Simple steam engines, gears, and clockwork.
- Early steampunk elements like air balloons (but not airships).
- No advanced or sci-fi technologies beyond this scope.
What isn't allowed?
- Sci-fi technology
- Weapons of mass destruction (e.g. nukes)
- Modern technologies or early forms of those technologies that existed in weaker forms (e.g., submarines, airships)
